Lockerbie Initiative

Lockerbie and District Initiative (LDI) is a voluntary organisation which was formed in 2003 to promote and facilitate the economic, educational, social, physical and environmental wellbeing of the inhabitants of Lockerbie and surrounding area. By working in partnership with local and national agencies, in particular Dumfries and Galloway Council, we aim to regenerate and revitalise the cultural, economic and social life of the town of Lockerbie and its immediate vicinity.

We hope you will have noticed some of our recent successes: Lockerbie in Bloom and the award of Best Town in the ‘Annandale and Eskdale in Bloom’ competition 2008; the Event for International Women’s Day; and Lockerbie Farmers’ Markets which are now well established monthly events, bringing more people into Lockerbie. Also our Business Directory, which aims to encourage people to use the abundant local services which exist in and around Lockerbie. Don’t forget you can still enter your details on this website for FREE.

Of course all these successes would not have been possible without the hard work and enthusiasm of our volunteers. We are always looking for new members - this can be either as part of the Committee or helping out in any of the projects which benefit of the Community.

Lockerbie & District Initiative is a Company Limited by Guarantee registered in Scotland its registered office is to be confirmed, Company Number SC370322.
